Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th on the 26th of March, 1991. She is an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October of 2016 Ari Lennox debuted her Pho EP. The EP was where she was recognized. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music online in the year 2012 when she launched her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The singer continued uploading her songs online throughout 2014 and released her own single Bound. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat it Out. In the following year, her music circulated all over the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some possible references for Rihanna. The announcement that she would sign with Dreamville Records was made on the 8th of December. The release album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat alongside Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016, her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was joined by EarthGang. In 2018, Ari Lennox performed on two tracks featuring EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas, on Icarus. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on the 5th of September. Her second single called Grampa on the 9th of November. Two additional singles were also released by her on 11/13, titled Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on the 26th of February, 2019, to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared along with Cole in the Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. In February 2019, her music video to the track was launched. It has had over 3 million YouTube views in just one week. In December 2018 she was performing as a support act on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
